The Hayti Heritage Center: A Very Important Part of History


Registering for the Triangle Golf Challenge supports The Hayti Heritage Center, a very important part of history.

Do you know the fascinating story behind Hayti? Shortly after the American Civil War, an independent black business community owned over 200 businesses which flourished along Fayetteville, Pettigrew and Pine Streets in Durham.  

The area was so successful it was dubbed “The Black Wall Street” as depicted in the mural above by Emily Weinstein.
